Highlight of the Week

Congratulations to Glenn Maslin for landing his first hole-in-one last Friday.

Glenn produced his shot of a lifetime on the 7th hole during Friday's Medley Stableford.

He timed his seven iron to perfection and watched it all the way into the hole.

The story only got better and better as Friday went on. Well done Glenn!

Dr Tyrie Trophy goes down to the wire!

Congratulations to Lachie Wakefield - the 2025 Dr Tyrie Trophy Matchplay champion!

Lachie defeated Harrison Uphill in a titanic final on Sunday afternoon, which took until the 20th hole for there to be declared a winner.

It was a fantastic final that featured some amazing golf, highlighted by a couple of brilliant birdies on 17 to halve the hole.

Well done to Scott McLachlan, who defeated Brendan Shumack to win the Consolation Final.

Keno Ambrose winners

Congratulations to the winners of the Keno Ambrose Qualifying Round held at the club last Sunday.

In the Men's event, given the big numbers, both pairs of Mitchell Condell and Tim Carberry, plus Joshua Greig and Kyle Harrison, will qualify through to the Regional Finals.

Wayne and Michelle Ford progress to the Regional Finals in the Mixed Pairs, while Lisa Corbett and Trisha Suckling advance in the Women's.

The players moving through to the next stage can pick any one of the 12 Regional Finals to compete at. They begin from September 28.

It is that time of year again, we're calling for volunteers for this year's PSC Insurance Wagga Wagga Pro Am.

The 2025 edition of the PGA Pro Am is shaping to be one of the best yet with already more than 100 professional golfers entering. 

But this award-winning event doesn't happen without the help and dedication of WWCC Members as volunteers.

If you are available to give some of your time on either Thursday or Friday September 11-12, please fill out the form via the button below. Any help is much appreciated.

Calling all talented juniors

Southern Sports Academy's Golf Program is now open for nominations.

Delivered in partnership with Jack Newton Junior Golf, this program is designed to support pre-elite junior golfers in the Southern Region, helping them develop both on and off the course.

The program is led by WWCC's very own PGA Professional, James Purcell, and is designed for passionate young golfers looking to take their game to the next level.
