Many regard this as the course's signature hole and it is a good reminder that a strong, challenging hole does not need to be overly long. To score well you must avoid the large gum tree on the left corner of this dog-leg hole.

You are then faced with a shortish second shot, possibly over the willow on the left, to a sloping green protected by a large bunker in front of the green and one to the right. It is also difficult to get up and down if you go over the green and there can be some tricky pin positions.
