RL Smith Matchplay champions decided

Luke Chisholm has claimed his second RL Smith Matchplay A grade title.

Chisholm defeated Kurt Pideski (1 up) in Sunday’s A grade final at Wagga Wagga Country Club.

It backs up Chisholm’s previous RL Smith Matchplay title in 2021.

It was a big effort from Chisholm, who defeated three previous Club Champions, James Elliott, Charlie Pilon and then Kurt Pideski, to win the A grade title.

Ryan Sutton defeated Cooper Silk (4 & 3) to win B grade.

In C grade, Tom Jennings defeated Cam Donoghue (1 up).

The RL Smith Matchplay is an Honour Board event.

The event is named in honour of multiple-time club champion and all round sportsman, Ronald Lindsay Smith (known as RL) who was very heavily involved in the Club for nearly 40 years before being tragically killed in a car accident in 1984.

The RL Smith Matchplay is contested by the top 8 scratch qualifiers in each grade following the Club Championships.
