The Riverina Golf Academy was launched early 2017. The program has 4 tiers, catering for boys and girls, from 5 year old and up. The programs are only available in term blocks. If spots are available, your child is welcome to join the Academy at any time during the term and the fee will be charged at a pro-rata rate.
Juniors can become members of the Wagga Wagga Country Club for a rate of $99.00 per year.
The Junior Academy offers different coaching programs. During each coaching session, juniors will learn new skills in relation to putting, chipping, bunkers, full swing, woods, irons, rules and golf etiquette. The coaching programs are based on age and ability, ranging from beginners to more advanced players.
Adult Coaching
RGA Adult Program.
Adult Private Lessons: 45 mins |
Members or guests can improve any aspect of the game from either chipping, putting, bunker or the full swing. Sessions can be videoed to help the client understand what aspect of their technique needs improving. |
Game Improvement Program (GIP): 5 x 45 min lessons |
Participating in a game improvement program enables the student to go through all aspects of their game which is an ideal way to improve faster. The lessons can be tailored to your individual needs. |
Ladies Beginner Clinics |
The Ladies Get In to Golf clinic series are held during the school terms. The clinics go through all aspects of the game rotating through chipping, putting, full swing, bunkers and an introduction to the golf course. The clinics have a focus on fun and enjoyment whilst learning the game. |

Junior Coaching
RGA Junior Program.
Cubs: 5-8 years |
This program is for an introductory level of golf with an emphasis on having fun. Involves group games, competitions and prizes. Parents are encouraged to participate or watch. Each session focuses on a different element of the golf game. All equipment is supplied and is specifically designed for children. This program is for junior golfers who are looking for a fun way to improve their golf. The relaxed social environment allows juniors to build their confidence alongside other juniors of similar experience and skill level. The program encompasses; drills, games, competitions & prizes, skills challenges and golf etiquette. All equipment is supplied and is specifically designed for children. Scholarship Program: 9 to 17 years |
This program is for juniors with a golf HCP who show outstanding ability. Structure also includes a 3 week rotation of long game, short game and on course skills. Ages: 9 - 16 year olds. Cost per junior: $400 per term ($40.00 per lesson) per person Class Size: 4 - 6 per program. Schedule: Every Tuesday - during school term only. Time: 4.00pm - 5.30pm. Dates - Term 2 2019: 30th April – 2nd July. |
Southern Sports Academy - Golf |
The Southern Sports Academy provides Southern NSW athletes with high level and professional resources not readily available to athletes in regional areas, therefore eliminating the high cost of travel to seek these resources. Within each sport program, a number of athletes are awarded Academy scholarships on an annual basis. These scholarships allow each athlete to participate in the Academy’s programs, by giving them access to specialised workshops in sports’ specific technique and skill training; Athletic Development; Sports Technology; Sports Medicine; Sports Psychology; Sports Nutrition and various Personal Development Workshops.. Junior Membership |
An integral part of our Club and new Juniors are welcomed and encouraged by all our members. Participate in competitions locally / against other clubs or just play for fun. Ages: 9 - 17 year olds. Cost per junior: $99 per year. |
Junior / Beginner Tees |
WWCC now provides Junior/Beginner Tees out on the main 18 Hole Golf Course. These tees enable juniors and beginners to play on the full course in a shorter / easier format. Tee markers are coloured yellow and are located further down the fairways. |
Grants
The Tom Hillis Foundation is a funding program formed within the club designated to support junior golf members wishing to further their golfing goals. Application forms are available at the office. Assistance is considered for the following:
- Coaching costs, including tuition fees, travel and living expenses
- Travelling and living costs incurred at approved golfing events
- Golf equipment (including any clothing worn on a golf course)
